A quick background on Genesis 12- Abram goes into Egypt due to a famine. In Egypt, he pretends that Sarai, his wife, is actually his sister so they won't kill him for her beauty. She is taken into the Pharoah's palace and Abram is treated well. Until, that is, the Pharaoh is inflicted with serious diseases, discovers the truth, and orders Abram and Sarai to leave.
Genesis 13:3-4: From the Negev, he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier and where he had first build an altar. There Abram called on the name of the Lord.
The first time I read that I was like "ok... cool. He built another altar for God. Abram, altars, ok got it." But this afternoon I went through to re-read a few passages.. and it just stuck out to me. He went back to where he had been before. He'd made a wrong turn and it ended in disaster, so he went back. He had to turn around and literally go back.
He went back to where he'd made the wrong turn. Then he called on the Lord.

And the journey begins...
Today I decided to read the whole bible. It's definitely a huge feat, and it's something I've thought about plenty of times before, but today I decided that I should give it a try. So here we go!
The plan I looked up is that if you read 3 chapters every day with 5 chapters on Sunday, with i think 3 days built in as exceptions, you can read through the whole Bible in a year. Well today I got a head start and read from the very beginning of the Bible through Gensis 9:17, when I felt that that was enough.
What caught my eye from today's read:
Genesis 3 is the fall of man. Verses 14-19 are all curses... cursing the serpant, woman, and then man. Verse 21, right after the curses, says this: The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.
Isn't that amazing? I've never noticed it before. Adam and Eve, because they sinned, are ashamed because of their nakedness and use fig leaves to cover themselves. Can you imagine how disappointed God must be? How hurt He must be? He's been walking with Adam and Eve and developing a very intimate relationship with them, and then they betray Him. Yet He clothes them. He still loves them the same despite their betrayel, despite their sin. He sees their shame and clothes them. He provides.
Please pray for me through this journey. I'm definitely one to start something, but then get lazy or impatient and not finish it. Pray that God will place in me the desire to read His word.
Thanks :)

"A time to tear down and a time to build"
Something needs to change. I can feel it.
I remember wayy back in middle school... I hated change. I thought things should always stay how they were. Change was one of the worst possible things that could happen. But now I'm embracing it. It's time to change.
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
-Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
It's time for a season of change.

Struggles...
I've been shown recently how impatient I am. And where I lack patience, I am filled with pride and stubbornness.
That's what I'm struggling with. Changing that part of me.
On another note, I recently started reading A Love Worth Giving by Max Lucado. I'm excited for it :]

Here we go again...
"I am a princess of the Most High God! My prince will come, but until God brings him into my life... my God, my King, is more than enough!"
I'm really struggling right now..

Must Have Done Something Right
Sherwood, Mae, and Relient K (my favorite band :D)!!
That was such an amazing concert...
And my first time in a mosh pit!
One of my friends got to meet Relient K and talk to them for about 20 min. while Mae was playing! I'm so jealous...
So I guess I'll start from the beginning...
The metro ride down there was ok. Mary, Cory, Kristi, and Allison kinda did their own thing while me and my sister talked. At first it kinda bugged me... I honestly hate feeling excluded like that but I couldn't just include myself because I didn't want my sister to not have anyone to talk to... and no one else was making an effort to talk to her until Mark met us at the concert. But whatever. Me and her talked, and it was really good... she's definitely one of the main role models in my life. Then we got to the concert and waited for a whileee so we just chilled. It was pretty fun... Haha "BB!!"
Sherwood was the first to play, and I looove them! They're seroiusly amazing.
We were stuck behind these tall people who just stood there. They didn't move or jump or sway or anything... they just kinda watched. I was like are you kidding? And my whole group was frankly being boring, and although I loved their music, I remember thinking "this is what i've waited so impatiently for?"
So after that we went to find a better place to stand so we could actually see and hopefully have more fun... almost everyone wanted to go upstairs but I refused, I wanted to find a good place to stand. When we finally pushed through some people and were in an ok spot before Mae got on, they were happy... and Mae, who wasn't very good live, was a lot more fun just because people were constantly jumping and moving and stuff and we actually got to be a part of the moshing and crowd surfing people and stuff.. it was pretty tight. So by then I was satisfied with how the night was going.
And then they set up.. and Relient K came on! And let me tell you that was totally crazy. I got pushed up to front, about the forth row of people, in the middle while everyone else in my group stayed back. Cory came after me after a while so we had fun. But yeah, my hair was a MESS. Afterwards Allison told me that's how she could find me, she would just look for the crazy hair. Haha, but for one of the rare times, I didn't care! I refused to not have a blast during Relient K so I went all the way up to the front and was in the middle of the mosh pit. It was craaazy. I almost touch Matt when he jumped down close during one part! Ah, so close...
But ok, the purpose of this.. analyzing it:
1. My horrid habit of coveting...
On the way down there, we ran into this group of people going to the RK concert too, and it's the typical group of people that I've wanted to be friends with ever since I was a kid. When we were talking to them briefly, I seriously wanted to just go with them. If they'd hung around us longer and we were with them at the concert, I would've totally ditched my group for them. And it just made me realize how I do that so much... I covet stuff like friendships other people have all the time when I have some amazing friends that I take for granted
2. Redefining characteristics I look for in a guy, and more willingness to wait in order to find that guy...
A few guys have I guess been on my mind recently, and last night I guess I kind compared them to people like Matt from RK? and how the only reason they would ever be on my mind is because they give me attention and such. And I guess it just made me more confident that I'm right in waiting and helped reenforce some things I look for.
3. I finally didn't care...
My hair was a mess, I was really sweaty, when people were being pushed around I probably looked like I had no right to be there. But I didn't care... I refused to stand in the back and listen to relient k play, I was gunna have fun! So I basically left my group until Cory came.
You have no idea how big that really is... 'cause I care about what people think way too much. But last night, I didn't.

the anonymous princess
First post! Should this be celebrated? Hmm...
So why am I starting to blog?
I strongly feel like this blog is almost essential for my spiritual growth which, over the past few months, hasn't been as strong as I would've hoped. I go through so many experiences that could make me grow so much closer to God... and I often think of Him, but I guess I don't like to analyze things very much so I let it go at just thinking of Him. I never follow through and grow through it.
So that's what this is for.
One of my closest friends posted really inspiring blogs for about a year, ones I'm sure she would never consider inspiring. Where she is spiritually inspires me too. No matter how often we might have these "confrontations", she amazes me, and she's another part of the reason for this.
I used to have an xanga and sometimes it would really help me get places spiritually. But it was also rooted in a lot of pride. I knew which friends of mine would read it, so what I wrote would almost always be biased. Either I'd be trying to impress them or trying to make them feel sympathy for me, whatever the case it was hindering my growth. So I'm starting this new one, after much time off from online blogging, as an anonymous user... just sending out experiences in my life that involved God... no, God is much bigger than my life... sending out experiences of God as they relate to my life and/or those around me to the cyber world as an anonymous, princess of the most high God.
